I lived a life that has had it’s ups and downs. I have been poor enough to know that bread and water will fill you up when there is nothing else. I got tired of reading about the Rihanna’s and the Kardashians and wondered why there was no magazine that focused on real people who live every day lives. So I started Kokoa (ko ko ah) for the real people in the world who don’t make even a quarter of 6 figures. People who have to choose between gas and food and people who can’t even buy the basics. I am a lover of people who give even when they have nothing. It’s not about education, race, or politics it’s about life as I and those around me see it. I have a BA in Business with a concentration in Marketing and Management. I am a mother of two kids under 10 and a wife of a big kid who plays videos games more than my actual kids lol. I have taken my degree along with a few skills I learned from my husband and I have started a graphic design company. I want to help new small businesses break into the world through web design, logo, photography, and print work. Please go to Kokoa Media to find out more about our business. I am a wife of 12+ years to a great man. We have had our share of good, bad, and ugly. Since no one else would ever put up with either of us, we strive to make this marriage thing work. He truly is the love of my life. We have a son who is a pretty awesome 7 year old, yes I’m biased. We have traveled the entire east coast, but no place like home in the lovely south, where nothing could be finer. In my spare time, you’ll find me unplugged just enjoying the moment dreaming and reflecting on life. And if you are a runner who participate in races, you may find me running along side of you. I don’t run to win, because I keep it real. I’m just running for a good cause and trying to finish.I also enjoy writing because it is an outlet to express myself. I hope to someday even write a book!Sometimes I’m deep in my writing, sometimes light hearted, and other times sharing some humor. I love life and trying to make the most of it. I’m not perfect and I make mistakes, but each day I hope to be better than I used to be. I truly believe the best is yet to come! Stay tuned.

I’m a wife and former corrections officer turned homeschooling mompreneur who loves food, wine, and family… not necessarily in that order… depending on the day.
I started The Dessert Diva (www.yourdessertdiva.webs.com) a few years ago to cater to the customizable sweet tooth in everyone. From twisted classics like five-flavor cream cheese pound cake and brandied bread pudding to upgraded taste buds that enjoy champagne infused chocolate covered strawberries and kitchen sink brownies, if you can’t find it I’ll do my best to create it.
But I also can cook! Lately I’ve been enjoying sharing my savory side as well and just started my own blog (eek!), RandomRantingsOfARegularMom.com. Hopefully one day I’ll compile the cookbook that’s been brewing in my soul and share with the world my recipes and the comfort-filled ones that I grew up with.
